Lenore Foster

Lenore is a certified yoga instructor. She first tried yoga in the hopes of finding some relief with the tight muscles she was developing through regular workouts and weight lifting.

One of the first things she discovered was the power of the breath to help her deepen the poses. Since then, she also noticed the breath can help ease and quiet the mind. The breath and the mind being so interconnected, she was amazed at how simply breathing deeply could help so much with relieving stress. Coming home from a yoga class and slipping into bed for a deep, relaxing sleep, was something she craved. The yoga made a difference in loosening her tight muscles and in becoming more aware of the unconscious tension residing in her body. The stress relief yoga offered also translated into being a more patient parent.

In teaching, she focuses on alignment of the body, on finding stability and strength, yet also ease and lightness. She believes that the actual practice of yoga is not in the postures or movements themselves but is the way in which we consciously respond to the challenges that they represent. She hopes to help people find that connection between the breath, the body and the mind, and, ultimately, finding their true inner self, and the peace within.

What Lenore's Clients Say:

Dear Lenore,

"I love the relaxing atmosphere, the small class size, the individual attention, your commitment and dedication to the participants and the art of yoga. You take beginners who have never had a class before and teach them to appreciate the movements and the concept of yoga without it being too serious."

"I can count on you to take an interest in my personal condition and do what you can to make me feel comfortable and safe, while offering a challenging, yet not overwhelming class. You are always friendly and professional, which is to important to many people and lacking in today's society where the fitness and yoga industry is over-saturated. You care about the individual needs of each of your clients."

"I like a teacher who is very confident and doesn't hesitate, it makes me feel safe in the practice. You have a tone in your voice that is calming and focused which I really need; I tend to come to the class with a million thoughts in my mind but you are able to get me to focus really well."

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is an ancient holistic form of hands-on healing that originated in Japan. It is a deeply relaxing experience that eases pain, tension, and stress and balances the energy centres (chakras) of the body. The result is an overall sense of well-being and peace. It speeds the healing of injuries, gently realigns and detoxifies the body, and aids in the recovery from emotional trauma. It helps strengthen the immune system, clear toxins and relieve pain within the body by releasing blocked and suppressed feelings within us such as guilt, shame, and resentment. Reiki healing can provide long-term relief because it heals at the source of illness, whether it is at the physical, emotional or mental level. The word Reiki means universal life force energy. The Reiki Master is a channel for this energy (also known as chi, ki or prana). You receive the energy and healing begins.

Benefits of Reiki

A typical session lasts about 60 minutes. You remain fully clothed while the practitioner channels the energy with a gentle touch through a series of hand positions on or above the body.

What does it feel like?
Most people experience a very deep sense of relaxation and tension release. You may feel a very comforting warmth, heat or tingling sensations as the energy moves through you. Others report a light floating feeling. Some people also see dream images or colours during the healing.
