Pelvic Floor Fitness at Tryniti, Port Credit, Mississauga, Ontario

Pelvic Floor Fitness – Incontinence and Organ Prolapse

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that span the bottom of the pelvis, supporting pelvic organs against gravity and increases in abdominal pressure (ie. coughing, sneezing, lifting, exercising, laughing). It also helps prevent urinary or fecal leakage (incontinence), and assists in stabilizing joints of the spine, pelvis, and hips. Sometimes childbirth, weight gain or aging can cause pelvic disorders such as organ prolapse or incontinence. These issues affect approximately 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men, so you are not alone.

Even though pelvic floor challenges are common, they are treatable. Strong pelvic floor muscles give us control over our bladder and bowel, and support the organs in our pelvis. At Tryniti we offer private instruction to help you re-gain control of your pelvic floor and improve daily living.

Pre/Post Natal

Exercise is beneficial to you at any stage of life, including during and after pregnancy. Exercising while pregnant will not only help you have a healthier pregnancy, it will also help you have a better labour and delivery, and an easier return to your fitness level once your baby is born.

Pre and post natal exercise programs differ in that during your pregnancy you work out to loosen up for childbirth, whereas your pregnancy workout is working to tighten you up. Our trainers have vast knowledge of pre and post natal exercise programs, so when looking for effective pre/post natal fitness you can rely on the professionals at Tryniti.

Diastasis Recti Exercises at Tryniti, Port Credit, Mississauga, Ontario

Diastasis Recti

Diastasis recti is commonly defined as the separation of 2.7cm or greater between the two sides of your abdomen. It is caused by the over-stretching of the tissue at the centre of the abdominal muscles to the right and left of the bellybutton. It can give the abdomen a soft, protruding appearance and/or it can push the bellybutton out. This condition often occurs in pregnant women, but is also know to occur in men.

Proper abdominal exercise that incorporates the pelvic floor and proper breathing techniques can re-establish the connection between the muscles and strengthen not only the abdomen, but also the pelvic floor.

It’s never too late to repair a diastasis, but it takes time and proper coaching. Core exercises done incorrectly, or with too much force may not help, and can pose a further separation. Book a session with one of our core experts for an evaluation and get started on your journey to good health.

Dance to Your Good Health

Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including improved muscle tone, strength and balance, as well as weight management.

We are thrilled to have Nathaniel Kozlow join our Tryniti A-Team. He began his professional dance career at the age of 14 joining the corps de ballet of the Baroque Opera company, Opera Atelier, and at 19, he joined the National Ballet of Canada dancing in the corps until 2009. He toured the world performing in many famous theatres. In 2010 Nathaniel joined the Arthur Murray Dance franchise and quickly became a successful American Smooth and Rhythm teacher competing Pro/Am in both genres at Canadian, American and European competitions. In 2016 Nathaniel was awarded the Arthur Murray Winners Circle as the Second Place Top Teacher worldwide. Nathaniel has numerous film and television dance credits and has done extensive work coaching and choreographing for professionals and amateurs in Ballet, Baroque and Ballroom dancing. Nathaniel is certified as a Silver Instructor in American Smooth and Rhythm and is a certified Advanced Fighting Actor.

Nathaniel teaches beginners through to professionals in social and competitive, health and balance based Ballroom, Latin and Specialty dancing.
